林雪平市位于瑞典南部, 是瑞典的第五大城市，人口约130，000，距离斯德哥尔摩以南200公里，如搭乘飞机35分钟即可到达斯德哥尔摩国际机场。林克平大学1960年建校伊始就开启了创新的现代化教学科研制度，致力于各学科的交叉研究，宏扬教育领域的企业精神。1975年建立正式的独立的学院，就是今天的技术学院、艺术学院和健康科学学院和教育科学学院.学校设立了一些独特的教育课程, 这些课程超越了传统上的学术界限.继瑞典第一个MSc课程工业管理工程创建后, 学校又开设了一些新的课程.比如: 认知科学和信息技术.现在学校在不断的发展壮大, 已有学生26, 500人,提供87个学科的课程.
